The second half of Cromer Carnival's fun-packed fortnight for children kicks off on Monday (August 12), with events and activities ranging from a sandcastle competition and a duck race, to a scavenger hunt and a party on the pier.

Photo: KAREN BETHELLA carnival tradition stretching back decades, the two children's weeks, which are run by a team of volunteers, are part of a series of events held in the lead-up to carnival week, which starts next Saturday on the carnival field at Runton Road (August 17), with a dog show, a beer and cider festival, a craft fair and antiques valuation, and a car boot sale.
Cathy Overall, who led children's week one with fellow carnival committee member Ben Richards, said that in spite of concerns about the weather, events had gone without a hitch.

Photo: KAREN BETHELLThanking sponsors, including Cromer Putting Green, which hosted a golf competition for youngsters, she added: "It was just amazing as although the tides were against us, we had a huge amount of support from children and their families and it couldn't have been better."
