Animals and the beauty of the north Norfolk coast are among the themes reflected in a series of paintings which have just gone on show.

The artworks, by Susanne Mason from Trunch, make use of a variety of techniques.

She said: “I love experimenting in art. My techniques embrace the ancient technique of encaustics - painting with wax - acrylics and mixed media, and I have recently started to train as a surface-pattern designer, creating patterns for fabrics.”

Ms Mason, who has lived near the north Norfolk coast since 2001, also enjoys teaching and beekeeping, and her works have been exhibited in the UK and Germany.

The paintings will be on show at North Norfolk District Council’s office in Holt Road, Cromer, until July 13. The council’s 1st Floor Gallery is open 8.30am-5pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; 10am-5pm on Wednesdays and 8.30am-4.30pm on Fridays.
