What’s on at this year’s Crab and Lobster Festival in Cromer and Sheringham

Get set for a weekend of crustacean-themed capers in Cromer and Sheringham - the Crab and Lobster Festival is just a few days away.
This year’s festival starts on Friday, May 18 at 7.30pm, with an opening night concert at Cromer Pier.
The main venue for events in Cromer Saturday and Sunday is Evington Gardens on Runton Road.
On Saturday from 10.30am, there will be a Woodforde’s Kitchen cookery theatre hosted by Charlie’s Norfolk Food Heroes in partnership with Cookery Live.com, with chefs and friends from across the county, demonstrating some of their finest skills, all with a local twist.
Starting from 10am, a heritage marquee will include demonstrations and samples of rope making, crab pot making, gansey knitting and more.
There will also be more than 50 local craft, food and drink stalls to sample and buy from, children’s entertainment, live pirates and music from the Old Wild Rovers will provide plenty of sea shanties to sing along to.
On Saturday night, enjoy live music and entertainment on Evington Lawns 6.30pm, with the Woodforde’s Brewery bar, barbecue and street food.
Sunday brings another day of crab and lobster fun and entertainment from 10am in Cromer. There will also be craft and food stalls, music, entertainment and marine displays along the High Street and Promenade in Sheringham from 11am.
Other crab and lobster events include a Lighthouse Art Trail, with lots of lovely lighthouses displayed around Cromer, Sheringham and beyond.
There is also a Cromer Crab Sandwich Competition, with judging taking place at 2pm on
Sunday and a Gardening Festival, held on Saturday at Cromer’s North Lodge Park.
After the Crab and Lobster Festival weekend, Grand Charity Auction of the lighthouses from the art trail will take place on Sunday August 26 at Cromer Pier.
This day will aslo see the World Crabbing Competition take place at 10am, and afterwards the winner crowned champion.
