Adorable footage of a furry visitor splashing in the waves on the north Norfolk coast has prompted people to share memories of their own seal sightings.

Phil Morton shared a video of a seal swimming close to shore off the coast of Cromer, near the town’s pier, on Wednesday, April 3.

He said: “I’ve been visiting Cromer regularly for around 30 years and today have seen a seal here for the first time.”

And Geraldine Burton commented: “I’ve lived in Cromer for 17 years and have only twice seen a seal.”

While Kerry Page added: “We’ve seen them a few times in the summer.

“One was swimming at the side of my daughter.”

Max Geller said: “In the 1950s we had seals body surfing with us in the waves.”

David Ash added: “There were two swimming around the pier this time last year.”

And Justin Smith thought he recognised the visitor, and said: “That’s Ron, seal from Overstrand. We swam next to that guy last summer.”
