It's Brain Tumour Awareness Month in Cromer; Miss Norfolk tells us how we can get involved

As Brain Tumour Research is very close to my heart since March last year, I continue to do a lot of charity work for them alongside my full time care assistant job in Cromer.
The community and I have raised over £3600 for the charity already, which is amazing.
This money we raise continues to help research more about brain tumours; the more money we raise together will make one less person go through being diagnosed like me!
As the snow has covered Cromer, most of us feeling cold and gloomy, so take a look at the charity events I have coming up to get you all back in the fun community spirit!
March is Brain Tumour Awareness month, and marks the month of Brain Tumour Research biggest campaign, WEAR A HAT DAY on March 29.
I would have been launching this campaign at their head office in Milton Keynes with Caprice Bourret, but due to the snow I couldn’t travel.
Very gutted, but I know Caprice will be doing a fantastic job!
I strongly ask all of Cromer workplaces to get involved with this fun Hat Day and raise a little bit of money for the funding of Research.
It’s going to be the BIGGEST, BOLDEST and HATTIEST day yet! Go to www.Braintumourresearch.org to get your fundraising pack.
On May 19th 2018 I have also organised a Charity Spring Ball which is sponsored by Davies Fish Shop, Cromer.
We have sold out 80 tickets! I have been inundated with event company’s supplying decorations, entertainment and photos for the ball which is fantastic!
Now I need the help from my locals and local businesses.
I would like to put on a raffle at the Charity Ball to raise a little bit extra for the charity.
I’m hoping for the good will for businesses to donate a raffle prizes.
I also would love to have a One Prize Auction but I need the prize to be big & amazing!
Maybe someone owns a holiday cottage/lodge or even a villa they could donate for a weekend or 5 days out of Norfolk?
The prize needs to be something someone is going to want to bid big on. Maybe something electrical, a TV? If you have something or an idea then let me know.
I have met some very special people along my journey and helping raise money for Brain Tumour Research but there’s one girl who always makes me smile.
Her mum and dad are coming to the charity Spring Ball. She a fighter and with a beautiful soul.
Her name is Maisie and she is 12 years old. Maisie had brain tumour surgery in 2016 and now in a wheelchair.
The time has come that Maisie is in need of new wheels which look awesome! These new wheels are a lot of money but they will allow Maisie to stand up, lay down and sit! It’s an amazing bit of kit.
I’m asking Cromer as a local community to get together and donate raffle prizes and one big prize for the charity ball if we reach a target of £1000 I will give half to Maisie and her new wheels!
I bet most of you reading this knows someone that has sadly been through or going through a brain tumour, do you really think there’s enough funding out there for brain tumours? The answer is no there’s not.
They kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.. yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours. This is the reason I put on these fun events and raise money to help fund a cure!
