Heartfelt goodbyes were said to some long-serving members of the team at Suffield Park Infant and Nursery School in Mill Road, Cromer.

The chairman of governors, Dr Viv Lennox, led the farewells and thanks to everyone moving on.

Ros Hele, previous deputy head, who had been at the school for more than 31 years, retired to enjoy some well earned rest, although she will come back to work with the choir.

Chris Garwood, one of the teaching assistants, had worked at the school for more than 25 years. She said she was overwhelmed by the good will from the staff, parents and children. She’s looking forward to more relaxed days, but will definitely miss school.

The third retiree on the last day of term was Gill Jarrell, another long-serving teaching assistant at the school.

Meanwhile, John Neenan moves on from Suffield Park to take up the headship of St Michael’s School in Aylsham.
