It’s the only one of its kind left in the world and the Cromer Pier Show is again set to be the must-see event this summer.
Now in its 41st year, a real variety show in every sense of the word it brings together a wealth of talent with most of the cast appearing on the Pavilion Theatre’s famous stage for the first time.
Cromer pier general manager Francis Guildea said: “We have a fantastic cast with lots of new faces, and lots returning. We have a slightly different show to present this year, which we hope will wow audiences.”
Headlining this year’s show is comedian and vocalist Steve Terry who said he was looking forward to his first tour in Cromer. “It’s a lovely town,” he said. Mr Terry said he grew up being inspired by comedy greats Tommy Cooper and Bob Monkhouse.
The man known a ‘G’, who is from Great Yarmouth, is a zany comedy impersonator with a huge repertoire of voices from James Blunt to Joe Cocker, Louis Armstrong to the Bee Gees.
Versatile vaudevillian duo Zooka and Suzie Q are a unique, rather whirlwind eccentric, and very visual comedy illusionists.
Meanwhile, the stunning voice of Emily Yarrow will once again grace the Pavilion Theatre stage as she returns for her third summer season in Cromer.
And making a welcome return is male vocalist Harvey James who first appeared in Cromer in 2006.
No Cromer Pier Show would be complete without its dancers, who are the hardest working members of the show, with stunning routines from ballet to tap and modern dance created by choreographer Di Cooke. The seaside special dancers are Sian Brown, Gemma Foulkes, Emily Hardy, Jasmine Ottley, Conner Crowcroft and Mason Hargreaves.
Children from Marlene’s School of Dancing will also be on board and all the cast are dressed to impress in colourful costumes designed by Laura Whyte, outstanding sets designed by Ian Westbrook of 3D Creations, and amazing lighting imagined by Amanda Hill.
The show has unearthed some great talent over the years including Bradley Walsh, Darren Day, Tucker, Steve Hewlett and Danny Posthill.
All shows are on sale at www.cromerpier.co.uk or from the box-office 01263 512495. The show runs from Saturday, June 23 to September 22.
