Cromer’s famously sweet and succulent crab will be showcased on prime time TV, after a crew from the BBC magazine programme The One Show spent two days filming in the town.

As well as taking a trip out to sea with eighth generation fisherman John Davies, the team visited Cromer’s seafront Cliftonville Hotel, where executive chef Paul Harvey and head chef Jamie Hood cooked up mouth-watering dishes from their bistro menu - which includes seafood specialities ranging from crab claw tagliatelle and lobster thermidor, to crab cooked in chilli, lime and ginger butter.

Hotel manager Richard Howard said Cliftonville staff were delighted to be featured on the show.

“Food-wise, Cromer is really on the up,” he added. “The restaurant scene is really buzzing and, particularly because of our fabulous crab and lobster, it’s becoming a real foodie destination.”

The feature will be on the One Show, on BBC One, at 7pm tomorrow (Thursday).
