Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same.

While schoolchildren of today are surrounded by modern technology, it is refreshing to know they still have time for music lessons, theatre groups and go-kart racing.

This week’s archive photos show children of the past at play around Cromer.

In one shot, we see youngsters taking part in a paper boat race in 1979 - an event that still takes place as part of the annual Cromer Carnival’s children’s week.

And there is also a trio of young Cubs, pictured in 1975, with a go-kart that looks like it could have built up quite a head of steam.

Then we have a wonderful photo of girls dressed for a performance of Annie in Cromer in 1990. We can also see youngsters gathered for their dinner at the newly opened Suffield school in 1968. And in another shot twins at Cromer Junior are seen playing the recorder - still a staple instrument of music classes today.
