Reader’s responses: Your top eats in Cromer this year
We learned this month that Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain listed Cromer crabs as the best thing she’s eaten in 2017.
The food writer and broadcaster mentioned Cromer in the Guardian’s list of best eats in 2017, which also included brain bought in Paris and a new type of squash.
So we asked our Facebook members what their best Cromer eats were for this year, and this is what they told us:
Cathy Stern wrote: “Crab Linguine at Rocky Bottoms in West Runton was just superb.”
Sue Gilder said: “I bought a whole crab in town and got all the wonderful white and brown meat out myself! Then made yummy crab and lettuce sandwiches. Also the chilled glass of wine went well. My nanny used to make them, she taught me well.”
Mark Boyer added: “Gonna have to try that place. I agree Cromer crab is the best!”
Jon Williamson said: “Hot rolls from a nice, local, family delicatessen, opposite the chippy.”
Steve Staddon wrote: “Seafood platter at forest park caravan park!”
John Lee wrote: “Steak at Hot Rocks, yummy!”
Jane Davis agreed, saying: “Definitely my fave this year - awesome steak!”
Steve Staddon wrote: “The lookout! Forest park caravan site! The steak was from Icarus Hines.”
Paul C James added: “Giant mince pie from Dudley’s Bakery...just wow.”
