A sand drawing competition is to take place on Cromer beach around a huge outline of the British Isles.

Norfolk Wildlife Trust is hosting the event, which will see the Sand in your Eye sand drawing company create the outline, before inviting members of the public to add their marine drawings around the edge.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 11 3pm-4.30pm on the beach next to the pier.

David North, the trust’s head of people, said: “Come and help us create a huge sand drawing using nature’s giant sketch book to illustrate our vision for UK seas in the future – full of marine life and thriving. The sand drawing represents what we’re trying to achieve to increase the level of protection in place for our marine wildlife. It gives us the opportunity to engage people with how fabulous our seas are, the threats they face but most importantly what we can all do at home can do to help achieve this vision.”
